Up and Coming Artist Preview: Lindsey Buckingham

Lindsey Buckingham's new studio album Seeds We Sow arrived in stores yesterday to very little buzz from rock n' roll blogs.  This to me just isn't right.  This up and coming chillwave virtuoso from California is still quite underground, despite his pure talent and outrageous style, which alone should have put his finger-picking ass on the indie radar by now (he's been putting out solo albums since 1981 and still no P'fork review!).  So, we here at Piratehouse want to give the poor guy some much-deserved press attention by giving our readers a taste of his new limited release LP.

A technically skilled guitar player in the same vein as, say, Mark McGuire from Emeralds, Buckingham dazzles on nearly every track of Seeds We Sow with heavily effected guitar arpeggios played with both acoustic and electric guitars.  On top of this bed of intertwined space riffs sits Buckingham's voice--reverbed and overdriven similar to the sound Bradford Cox cooks up for his Atlas Sound solo project.  The songs themselves are bedroom pop masterpieces that marry sugary hook-filled melodies with the beats of a twitchy keyboard drum machine.  Washed Out, eat your butt out.

Go pick up a copy of Seeds We Sow at your local BestBuy today for the indie-friendly price of $9.99 with your Reward Zone card.
